Fluid Flow With Three Upstream Configurations in Freezing Tubes

چکیده
The accumulation of frozen liquid around a central passageway melt as it flows through freezing region can make calculations very challenging. To both illustrate and to quantify some these challenges from freezing, model equation is developed. It simplifies the solution Holmes (2007, https://gfd.whoi.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/18/2018/03/MHolmesGFDReport_30151.pdf) for low Reynolds number single component flow long tube that has wall kept at subfreezing temperature. This used in conjunction with three different upstream configurations, each parameters expressing their behavior. Analytical numerical results give have criteria for: compressible reservoir includes oscillatory behavior; fed constriction large pressure, just like dripping water faucet during winter; evolution multiple tubes connected by an manifold, where end up full others freeze shut. Numerical runs 1,000 formula spacing between actively flowing (non-frozen) over wide ranges two (flow rate manifold resistance). Results implications various areas earth science. Some are: shut magma region, criterion wintertime ice natural springs, volcanos.

Freezing in turbulent flow inside tubes and channels
A simple and quite flexible numerical model is presented to predict the steady state ice-layer formation inside a cooled two dimensional channel or a tube containing a turbulent flow. The effects of arbitrary entrance velocity distributions upon the shape of the ice-layers are examined. The presented numerical scheme is verified by comparing the predicted ice-layers with measurements and genera...
متن کاملNon-Newtonian fluid flow in elastic tubes
The knowledge on the non-Newtonian fluid flow behavior in inflatable and collapsible elastic tubes is important to applications such as biofluid mechanics in human body and the transport of food and liquids in pharynx (throat), esophagus and intestines. The ultrasound Doppler based velocity profiles are measured at a fixed position from the outlet of a horizontal collapsible elastic tube immers...
متن کاملFluid Flow in Collapsible Elastic Tubes: A Three-Dimensional Numerical Model
A three-dimensional computer model has been developed to simulate fluid flow through a collapsible tube. The model is based on the immersed boundary method, which is designed to handle a flexible elastic boundary immersed in fluid. This internal boundary is both affected by and has an effect on the motion of the fluid. The setup for collapsible tube simulation involves a fiber-wound elastic tub...
متن کاملFluid Flow Estimation Through Integration of Physical Flow Configurations
The measurement of fluid flows is an emerging field for optical flow computation. In a number of such applications, a tracer is visualized with modern digital cameras. Due to the projective nature of the imaging process, the tracer is integrated across a velocity profile. In this contribution, a novel technique is presented that explicitly models brightness changes due to this integration. Only...
متن کاملVisualizing Multiphase Flow and Trapped Fluid Configurations in a Model Three-Dimensional Porous Medium
We report an approach to fully visualize the flow of two immiscible fluids through a model three-dimensional (3-D) porous medium at pore-scale resolution. Using confocal microscopy, we directly image the drainage of the medium by the nonwetting oil and subsequent imbibition by the wetting fluid. During imbibition, the wetting fluid pinches off threads of oil in the narrow crevices of the medium...
